A Multivitamin? Why should I take that?!
The majority of us have very busy lives and it may be hard for us to consistently eat as healthy as we intend to. Of course eating whole foods, fruits and vegetables, and lean meats is the most ideal way to eat but it is not always easy and efficient with our every day hectic lives. With that being said, this is why I suggest that you look into adding a multivitamin into your daily routine.
It is true that a good multivitamin benefits your optimal health by helping promote your strong immune system, providing support for defense against a growing number of health concerns. I am not by any means telling you to eat processed foods and fast food every day and then try to salvage that by taking a multivitamin. Nutritional supplements complement the food you eat but they cannot take the place of a healthful diet of unprocessed organic foods, which is best for optimal health and nutrition.
“A number of carefully controlled studies have provided startling evidence that by the time the food reaches your table, serious nutrient content could already be lost.”-This statement comes from Dr. Mercola on his website on why taking a whole food supplement is beneficial to you. What is the reason for this? Due to conventional farming methods, more pesticides and chemical fertilizers are being used which deplete the soil of the proper nutrients required for these plants to grow, leading to less nutrients for us! Another way of depleting nutrients is the way we are preparing these vegetables-cooking them-which impairs even more of the nutritional value. Once again, why I am suggesting a whole food multivitamin.
Taking pro-active steps, including taking a good multivitamin to help maintain and boost good health and wellness is still one of the best things you can do for yourself and your health. But how do you know what multivitamin is best for you?
Did you know that there are over 1400 vitamin companies? That is a lot of companies trying to offer you the same thing and like any other product, there are some good ones out there and some not so good. The best thing you can do is make sure the multivitamin you are taking uses whole food nutrients. If you are currently taking a multivitamin, take a look at the back of the bottle and see what is in it-are there any other ingredients that you may not know what they are or why they would need to be in there? If it does not say CLEARLY on the bottle that they are using whole foods then they most likely are not. Innate Response Formulas is a product that we stand by at our office and I personally take the Food Multi III Biomax. This company uses all whole foods in their products, which is very important. All their products are tested for pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals. They are also free of gluten, soy, and diary and even have their own manufacturing facilities and in-house lab testing. Another thing that is becoming a bigger issue is products and foods that are containing GMO’s-Genetically Modified Organisms-and Innate Response Formulas are Non-GMO project verified and have been for the past 3 years. If you want more information on Innate Response Formulas just click this link-and one more thing-you get 15% off all their products when ordering them through our website with our customer code-click her for it!
