New Year's Resolutions: Leg Pain Doesn't Have To Be A Reason To Stop Exercising

New Year's is coming and the talk is of setting resolutions to eat healthier and exercise. So, New Year's day you eat a healthy breakfast and decide to jog around the block or do jumping jacks in the house. Great start! Lunch you eat healthy and decide to walk through a mall instead of sleep on the couch. Keep going! That evening you eat healthy and you are feeling good. You go to sleep and wake up in the middle of the night sore. Your legs are aching and that calf muscle is yelling at you. The next morning you eat healthy, but skip the exercise because it hurts. From there, it's difficult to get motivated to exercise.

How many years have you made that resolution and then gave up because of leg muscles hurting or those awful charlie horses in the night? How many years have you wished you didn't give up and could stay motivated to exercise, but you don't want to be in pain.

You don't have to let leg pain stop you from exercising. The trick to not being in the kind of pain that stops you from exercising is being proactive. Visit your chiropractor and ask about stretching exercises that will help you not be in the same level of pain you have experienced in the past. Ask about adjustments that will help keep your spine adjusted so your back does not contribute to leg pain from exercising.

Instead of starting the New Year's with the same old resolution, why not change that resolution to: See a chiropractor, learn how to stretch properly, make sure my back is aligned, eat healthier, exercise. Interested? Just contact us and let's start that conversation.
